Monday, July 30, 2012

I'm back from New York! Just in time to get my JBF items ready to sell. Woohoo! Hope you all have been working on your items and telling all your friends & family about this awesome event while I was gone.

Remember, you will have a new universal consignor number this time around. Be sure to read directions on what to do with your old tags.

Several of you have questions about how JBF works. They have the following Q&A's on the website that I found to be very helpful.

Q: Where is your sale?
A: We are located at the Mesquite Rodeo Exhibit Hall. 1700 E Rodeo Dr Mesquite Texas.

Q: What type of payment do you accept?
A: We accept cash, MC, VISA and Discover

Q: Are children allowed when you are open to the public?
A: Yes, children are allowed to shop with you when we are open to the public. All children must remain with the adult that they came with at all times. No children are allowed on our presale day.

Q: How often do you have these sales?
A: Twice a year! In the Spring (usually March) for Spring/Summer clothing and in the Fall (usually August/Sept) for Fall/Winter clothing

Q: What can I use to shop with?
A: You can bring a "canton cart" or a laundry basket with a belt attached to drag along. We do allow strollers/wagons on our open to the public days. However, on the presale no strollers/wagons are allowed.

Q: How can I sell my children's things?
A: You just sign up to be a consignor on our website, tag all of your items and bring them to us on drop off day. For this Fall 2012 sale our drop off day is Tuesday, July 31st from 8am-8pm. No new consignors will be accepted after this, but we would love to have you in the Spring.

Howdy Sassy Savers!

Just wanted to check in and say that I'm alive and kickin'. We have been enjoying our summer and time visiting with family & friends. I've been attempting to not be so tied down to my computer this summer. Last year was a year of change for our family and I did not acclimate as well as I'd hoped. Too much going on and not enough down time.
So, this summer I'm trying to change that. In doing so, I have not devoted a great deal of time to this blog. Please forgive.

Speaking of devoting time this summer...we are preparing for our mission trip! We are so beyond excited about how God is going to work through us. It is going to be amazing!

On a recent trip to OK, my Dad reminded me to stop and smell the flowers. Life is short and beautiful things are sometimes temporary. It was a sweet reminder. Thanks Dad! Cherish the flowers (moments) in this season of life.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend with your families!

In Him~

~A Lesson On Living~

A lesson on living...

Sometimes life throws you situations and circumstances that you do not expect. This happened to me on my 11th anniversary island trip with my hubby. We were enjoying our beautiful scenery when God placed a family into our path.

I won't go into all the details, but a brief summary is that a family was there celebrating a life of a girl whose body is full of cancer. They were there having a blast and truly soaking in every single moment as if it were the last. They were living in the moment and not letting anything stop them. There were no problems, no issues, no worries. They were just enjoying the time that the Lord has given them.

On our last day on the island, I was able to have a long conversation with the girl who has cancer. She is REMARKABLE! Not once did she complain about chemo, radiation, being sick or anything. Instead we talked about her hopes and dreams and her bucket list.

How many opportunities in life do we meet someone living out their bucket list? It was inspiring. She is choosing to LIVE and not be the victim of anything. It was wonderful and so refreshing to be in the presence of such company.

All of this to say, I challenge you to start living today! Get control of your finances and stop being the victim of any situation, especially your finances. Do your best and live life to the fullest. Live your life in a way so that you can fulfill a bucket list someday. Start making your dreams come true!

Do you have a bucket list? I challenge you to start one today (if you haven't already). It is fun to dream!

When it is all said and done, I want to have lived life and experienced things. I want memories of beautiful places and people that I've met along the way.

I will never be the same. I am forever changed.

Blessed Beyond Measure~
