~What can $25 buy you?~

I remember not too long ago going to the grocery store and not being able to get much at all for $25. Today's trip was a perfect example of how combining store sales with coupons can really impact the bottom line. I have set a very aggressive grocery budget for us for the month of February. If I keep getting deals like this, I will make it!
Kroger is having a Daytona sale (buy 10 participating items, get $3), so I got my coupons ready and away we went! I got a little confused and ended up only getting 18 items instead of 20 somehow (I swear I counted them 6 times) anyway, the nice cashier boy rang up a couple more Grand's biscuits and let me go back after the transaction to get them.

Here are a few highlights:

3 Bounty paper towels (closeout) $1.03 -$1 q = .03 cents each!

2 Cottonelle toilet paper $1.19-$1 q = .19 each!

Lysol Dual wipes (closeout...got the last one!) $1.64-.75q = .89 cents

6 Chef Boyardee .58 -q = .23 cents each!

1 box Cheerios $2.49 -.75 e. q - .75 = .99 cents

1 box Cheerios $1.67-.75 q = .92 cents

1 box Cheerios $1.67 -$1q =.67 cents

1 box Cheerios $1.67- .55q = $1.12

3 Totinos Pizza Rolls $1.25 - $1.05-.50 e.q. = .10 cents toal for all 3!

2 Ritz crackers $2.68 -$1 q = $1.68 each

5 Grands biscuits .97-.75 = .22 cents

1 Grands biscuits .97-.90 = .07 cents

1 Grands biscuits .97-.80= .17 cents

Double paper $3 not on sale, but will save me tons in coupons!

2 lunch meat $3.99-$1 q = $2.99 each
Jimmie Dean sausage- $3.99 no q :(
Yogurt $2 - $1 = $1

Total spent $23.93
Total saved $46.33

.50 cents!

Would you believe that I only paid .50 cents for these 3 items? Plus, I got a $2 ECB that was not advertised. So, technically, I made $1.50 just for shopping!!!

~Stockpile~

The idea behind this is not simply to get a good deal, but to build a great stockpile. Once you have a stockpile (which will take time), you will never again have to pay full price for items you use on a regular basis. You can now decide at what price YOU choose to pay - not what the retailers want you to pay.
I have built up a stock in everything we use on a regular basis:
Toilet paper
Makeup
Dishwasher detergent
Shave gel
Soap
Cleaning products
Cereal
Razors
Shower gel
Laundry needs
Frozen foods
Shampoo
Face wash
Toothpaste
Canned goods
Conditioner
Deodorant
Toothbrushes
Styling products
Paper towels

Now that I have built up this stockpile, I am able to focus my grocery funds on FOOD. It’s amazing the amount of food that can be purchased when you don’t have all of these other needs to fill. You will still have times that you need to replenish your stock, but now you know what you are willing to pay for an item and you plan. Once you see that sales and coupons match up and you can get an item for a significant savings, you stock up. My stock up point is typically 70-100% savings!
